The tokens

SCRIP & materials

Scrip, in the strict sense of the word: a private currency good only inside the town that issued it. Produced by your plots, burned by your buildings, and worth nothing outside the game.

SCRIP
Citadel Scrip, 18 decimals, at 0xF6F57f6B7852167713812010170d0e526Bf303cC.

Building is the main sink and it is a real burn — the tokens cease to exist. That matters because it is what keeps production meaningful: without a sink, the store would be the only constraint and there would be nothing to spend on.

Emission is budgeted, not unlimited

70 SCRIP

Funding share
100%
The fraction of nominal output actually paid.
Storage

Of your own output. Past that it spills.

There is a hard per-epoch ceiling on how much can be minted, and a separate funding share applied before anything is displayed. The second is the important one: it means what a player reads is what they receive, and a shortfall is shared in proportion rather than handed to whoever claims first.

The token contract is 0xF6F57f6B7852167713812010170d0e526Bf303cC. It is a standard ERC-20 with 18 decimals, named Citadel Scrip.

The five materials

Alongside SCRIP, a plot mints the raw material of its industry at 1% of its SCRIP output. Materials are what make the era order a real tech tree rather than a framing device: a level in one industry burns the material of every industry before it.

The pairing is assigned by an industry’s position in the era order, so the names are labels rather than claims about what an industry “really” produces — Communication Services making iron is an artefact of that ordering. The iron token also carries the symbol FER where the others are English. Both are cosmetic; neither affects any calculation.

How materials behave

  • They follow what was actually credited, not what was earned. A full store stops the materials too, prorated by the same fraction the ceiling let through — otherwise a player with a full store would go on farming materials for free.
  • They are burned by building, through the same allowance mechanism as SCRIP. You must approve the recipe before a level will go through.
  • A share of them is at stake in a raid, on the same basis as SCRIP.
  • You cannot buy a material you never set up a plot to produce. This is what stalls a city that went all-in on one industry.

And one thing SCRIP is never used for

Shields and build rushes are paid in USDG — real money — and that payment leaves the game economy entirely, going to the treasury without minting or burning anything. Time and protection are bought from outside so they cannot distort the internal economy.
